Tutor Tip 20: Who Am I?

Purpose: This simple writing and guessing activity engages learners in thinking about all the different roles they play in their lives. It is a good review after doing a unit on family vocabulary.

Preparation Time: none

Materials: paper and pencils

Preparation: none

Procedure:
  1. Individually, learners write on the paper all of the words they can think of that relate to their identify. Examples: mother, daughter, student, Mexican, sister, daughter, wife, etc.
  2. Collect all of the lists.
  3. Ask for a volunteer reader and give the reader one of the lists. That person reads the list aloud. When he/she has finished, the other learners will guess who wrote the list.
  4. Continue, choosing a new reader for each list.
